General information
STC Next offers a unique blended course for the LNG qualification certificate, available in Dutch and English.
The training is intended for skippers and crew members of inland vessels who use LNG as a fuel and are involved in the bunkering procedure. They must have the Certificate of Qualification for Inland Navigation – Expert in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The course starts with an e-learning that participants follow at their own pace and at a time of their own choosing. In this way, they prepare for the theory exam and build up the necessary knowledge about LNG as a fuel, safety and procedures.
This is followed by a classroom practical day at STC Next. During this meeting, participants practice the bunkering procedure on the cargo simulator and work with a practical set-up. The theory and practical exam will also take place on the same day.
After passing both exams, participants receive the LNG diploma from the CBR. This gives them access to the bunker zone to attend two LNG bunkering operations. These bunkers are part of the application for the official LNG qualification certificate.

The training consists of a combination of online learning, classroom practical training and examination.
E-learning
Participants start with the online theory. They follow this e-learning independently, at their own pace and at a time that suits their work schedule. The e-learning prepares participants for the theory exam.
Classroom practical day
After the e-learning, participants come to STC Next for a practical day. During this meeting, they practice the bunkering procedure on the cargo simulator and work with a practical set-up.
Theory and practical exam
On the same day, participants take the theory and practical exam. After successfully completing both exams, they receive the LNG diploma from the CBR.
Attending two LNG bunkering sessions
With the LNG diploma, participants gain access to the bunker zone. They then attend two LNG bunkering operations. These are registered and are required for the application of the official LNG qualification certificate.
